Man with Pipe Carving a Block - PAXTON

Man with Pipe Carving a Block
Pencil on cream-colored paper, 1930, 14 x 10 in. (sheet size) Signed and dated, lower right. This is a fine drawing by Paxton. The condition is good. There's toning within a previous mat opening. Paxton was a wonderful draughtsman and his best works on paper are well worth collecting. He did a handful of prints and they are all rare.

Portrait of a Lady - PAXTON

Portrait of a Lady
Conte pencil with white gouache highlights on grey paper, 1930, 14 3/8 x 11 1/8 in. Signed and dated, lower right. This is an outstanding drawing by this celebrated Boston school painter. The condition is very good. There is a faint bit of discoloration within a previous mat opening and old hinges at the top of the sheet.

Street Scene, New England (probably Provincetown) - PAXTON

Street Scene, New England (probably Provincetown)
Etching, undated (1920s), proofs only. 4 7/8 x 5 7/8 in. Signed in pencil. This is a fine impression of a very rare print. The margins are apparently full and uncut. There's slight discoloration in the margins and there's crackling in the paper along the platemark. Paxton's etchings are all rare and he never printed editions, only proofs. I've seen this print only once before.
