Ascension to the Light (Opgang naar het Licht)
Lithograph, 1934, edition perhaps 100. 7 3/4 x 12 3/4 in. Signed, dated, titled and numbered "10" in pencil. This is a fine impression in fine condition. The margins are full. Strube was an outstanding draughtsman and he was a natural as a lithographer. His work is intensely realistic and often his imagery borders on the surreal. He was a member of "Arti et Amicitiae" (Amsterdam) and there was an exhibition of his work in Breda in 1942. His work is included in the Rijksprentenkabinet. This impression bears an ink stamp in the lower right which is probably a printer's stamp or a collector's stamp.
