The margins are full and the condition is fine. Van der Stok is well known for his stylized art deco era designs. He was born in Indonesia and eventually settled in the Hague. Circe was a sorceress in Greek mythology.

The margins are full and the condition is excellent. Van der Stok's flair for art deco design is consistent throughout his oeuvre. He excelled at making woodcuts.

Woodcut, about 1920-25, edition unknown. 17 3/4 x 21 3/4 in. Signed in the block with the monogram and signed in pencil, lower right. This is a fine impression with full margins. The condition is also fine other than a couple of small repaired tears in the outer edges of the sheet. This monumental print is exemplary of his stylish art deco, modernist approach to the block. Van der Stok was born in Indonesia and eventually settled in the Hague. He was a gifted painter and also worked in stain glass. This print was published by VAEVO ("de Vereeninging tot Bevordering van het Aesthetisch Element in het Voortgezet Onderwijs, voor schoolversiering") which means The Society for Promotion of the Aesthetic Element in Secondary Education. Other works by van der Stok are currently available.

This is a fine impression printed on a medium weight Japanese paper. The margins are full and the condition is fine. Van der Stok was born in Indonesia and eventually settled in the Hague. In addition to his blockprints, he was also a gifted painter and stained glass artisan. He was a member of the Pulcri studio.
