In addition to his meticulous panoramic views of the Dutch countryside, Haverkamp was an architectural etcher with extraordinary skills. This scene depicts an academic building at the University, Leiden.

Etching, 1914, edition unknown. 7 5/8 x 11 1/2 in. Signed and dated in pencil. This is a fine impression printed on cream-colored paper. The margins are full and the condition is fine. The scene depicted shows the harbor in Amsterdam. Haverkamp was a wonderful etcher with an emphasis on architectural detail and atmosphere.

Haverkamp produced many etched panoramic landscapes of the Dutch countryside continuing the great traditions of the 17th century etchers and painters; among them Rembrandt, Jan van Goyen, Philips Koninck and others.

In fine condition and with full margins. Haverkamp produced many such views of the Dutch countryside continuing the great tradition of the 17th century etchers and painters, among them Rembrandt, Jan van Goyen and Philips Koninck.
