Etching, 1923, edition unknown. 12 1/8 x 9 5/8 in. Signed with the artist's estate stamp. This is a fine, lifetime impression printed on white laid paper. The margins are full and the condition is very good other than a crease in the right margin. This work is illustrated (#69) in Jan Altink, Groninger Land en Menschen (1969) published by the Gemeentemuseum in the Hague. Altink was one of the founders, along with Jan Wiegers and others, of the Dutch expressionist movement known as "de Ploeg." Altink was born in Groningen and that's were this important movement started in 1918. He was also a painter of great merit and produced many other prints. $1,500
