Femme du Port (Woman at the Port) - FLORIS JESPERS
Drypoint, 1927, Carpentier-Lebeer 50, edition 30. 9 3/8 x 7 in. Signed and numbered in pencil. This is a superb impression printed on cream Japanese paper. The margins are full. This potent modernist image relates to a painting he did called "Oostendse Vissersvrouw," meaning "Ostend Fisherman's Wife." This is a rare work and an especially fine example of Jespers' printmaking during the 1920s.
