Etching, 1913, Zigrosser 112, only state. 10 3/4 x 8 3/4 in. Signed and dated in the plate. Signed in pencil. A fine, tonal impression of this landmark work from the year of the Armory Show. Full margins showing a deckle all around. Fine condition. This impression, showing a Van Gelder Zonen watermark, is one of several impressions printed for the New Republic Portfolio. The original edition of about 12 was published by Alfred Stieglitz at 291 Fifth Avenue, New York. (This first edition was printed on Whatman paper.) By far, most impressions of the Marin print included in the Portfolio are from Zigrosser plate 134, "Downtown, The El."      SOLD
