Floral Study White-line color woodcut, circa 1940, very small edition. 12 x 10 in. Signed in pencil, lower right. This is a superb impression on Japanese paper. The sheet has been trimmed to the image and then mounted at the top to another similar Japanese sheet, certainly by the artist. The condition is very good other than slight damp staining in the lower margin. Cannon was quite accomplished in the white-line technique. Her florals are her best work in the medium. SOLD |
