Etching, 1923, edition 30. 6 x 8 in. Signed in pencil and also inscribed "ed. 30" This is a fine impression with full margins. The condition is excellent. Born in Germany, Kuhler came to the United States in 1922. He was a skilled draughtsman, railroad designer and etcher and it was Joseph Pennell who encouraged him to take up printmaking.

Etching, 1927, Kennedy Galleries 26, edition 50. 14 3/8 x 9 in. Signed and titled in pencil. this is a superb, richly inked impression of this uncommon print. The margins are full and the condition is fine. On the left side are the flags of the former Hotel Belmont which was a destination hotel for foreign ambassadors and other dignitaries.

Steel Castles
Etching, circa 1925, not in Kennedy; edition about 20 impressions. 16 3/4 x 13 1/4 in. Signed in pencil lower right. A fine impression with full margins. The condition is good. There's an outline of an old water stain showing primarily on the back of the sheet at top and just a bit on the top margin, recto. This is a large, exemplary work by the artist.

Turbine Construction
Etching, 1929, Kennedy Galleries 12, edition 15-20. 17 3/4 x 14 in. Signed in pencil, lower right. A fine impression printed on ARCHES laid paper. The margins are full and the condition is very good apart from an extremely faint suggestion of toning within a previous mat opening. This large and impressive work is typical of Kuhler's interest in the growth of America as an industrial giant. He was inspired to take up etching by Joseph Pennell and it shows. This massive turbine was built near Pittsburgh for Con Ed in New York.
