Linoleum cut, 1953, Vorms & von der Gabelentz D155, edition 25. 7 1/16 x 9 7/8 in. Initialed and dated in the plate. Signed, numbered, titled and dated in pencil. This is a fine impression in excellent condition. The margins are full. This work was issued as a separate print and was never found in any book editions like so many of the artist's prints. Masereel is probably the best known Belgian expressionist printmaker and he was quite prolific. The signed prints, however, are increasingly hard to find since they were done in very small editions. This is a very good example of his work from the 1950s.
