In the Doldrums Woodcut printed in colors, undated, edition 50. 9 x 10 3/4 in. Signed and titled in pencil. This is a superb impression with full margins. The condition is excellent. Always understated, Needell's woodcuts have a distinctive arts and crafts look and his designs are carefully thought out. Needell joined the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve in 1916 and served on an armed merchant cruiser working the Northern Patrol. SOLD |
