L'averse (The Downpour) Drypoint with aquatint printed in colors, 1898, Crauzat 24, edition 35 (25 in color). 9 1/2 x 4 7/8 in. Signed and numbered in colored pencil. This is a fine impression on cream laid ARCHES paper in good condition. The margins are full with a deckle edge on all sides. (The paper is toned within an earlier mat opening and there's a soft horizontal scuff in the image.) This fine early work is found in the Metropolitan Museum in New York and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. SOLD |

Planche de Croquis (No. 1) Drypoint, 1898, Crauzat 1, edition 10. 12 x 7 7/8 in. Signed in pencil. A superb impression with rich burr. Full margins. Fine condition. This wonderful sketch plate is Steinlen's first recorded copperplate print. His great skills as a draughtsman are readily apparent. SOLD |
