This outstanding work was published in the so-called series "schildersprenten." Wiegers was a prominent member of "De Ploeg"; a Dutch expressionist movement.

(Faint discoloration within a previous mat opening. Wiegers was an important member of the Dutch group "De Ploeg". He was friendly with Kirchner and they were neighbors in Davos. This is possibly a portrait of fellow artist Coosje van Haersolte.
