Woodcut printed in colors from nine blocks, 1981-82, Welliver/Strand/Fine page 62-63, edition 90. 7 7/8 x 10 1/2 in. Signed and numbered in pencil. This is a superb impression in excellent condition. The margins are full. This stellar work was published by Brooke Alexander and printed on Torinoko paper. Nine blocks, thirteen colors and twenty-five rubbings were involved in making just one impression. This complex print relates to so many of the great arts and crafts color woodcuts from the 1930s-1940s, as well as to the modern Japanese prints of the 20th century.
