Etching and aquatint, 1881, Singer 63 (iii/III), edition unknown. 8 x 16 7/8 in. Signed and dated in the plate. This is a fine impression with full margins printed on chine applique. The condition is also fine. This is plate 12 from the series Intermezzi which was conceived of in 1879 and the plates were etched in 1881. Kaethe Kollwitz greatly admired Klinger's work and delivered a eulogy at his funeral.      SOLD
