Aquatint, 1893, Stein / Karshan 46, edition 100. 8 7/8 x 5 3/8 in. Initialed in the plate. Signed and numbered in blue pencil, lower right. This is a superb impression with full margins. The condition is very good apart from a tiny pinhole/flaw in the upper margin and minor incidental toning near the outer edges of the sheet. This outstanding portrait was published in Album I (plate 5) of L'Estampe Originale (1893). The Charpentier designed blindstamp appears in the lower left corner margin. This endearing portrait reflects the close friendship between Maurin and his sitter. They frequented the Montmartre nightclubs together during the 1890s and Lautrec reciprocated with a few portraits of Maurin.      SOLD
