This is a fine impression printed on cream wove paper. The margins are wide and the condition is fine. This very rare work was published as a supplement to the 1898 "Hollandsche Revue." It was printed by L. Kuipers, Amsterdam. Known as a 'red cabbage" design, this exquisite example of Dutch art nouveau lithography exemplfies Lion Cachet's interest in typography combined with fluid, detailed designs from nature. The artist was a master craftsman who also did bank note designs, calendar art, book covers, furniture, carpets,and interiors. His work is included in the recent publication, Holland on Paper in the Age of Art Nouveau, by Cliff Ackley (2014. Provenance: E.H. Ariens Kappers, Amsterdam.
