Etching with drypoint, 1854, Schneiderman 45 (iv/IX), edition unknown. 6 1/2 x 11 3/4 in. Signed and dated in the plate, lower left. This is a superb, luminous impression printed on light cream laid paper with the watermark GDT. The margins are wide and the condition is generally fine. There's just a very faint trace of an old mat line showing showing from an early mount. (The "C" is his first name is printing somewhat lightly which is sometimes the case with this print.) This large and important Meryon print is from the collection of James Lockhart (Lugt 4387) a New York State collector.       SOLD
