Woodcut, 1919, small edition. 6 3/4 x 3 1/2 in. Signed on the support sheet with the artist's stamp "Copyright by Karel Maes", and also initialed and dated in the block. A fine impression of this early Belgian cubist image. Attached to a large brown support sheet with red stencil color around the edge of the print itself. This is as issued and the print was most likely part of a portfolio of related works. Prints by this artist are rare today as he destroyed a large part of his own work before departing for the Congo.      SOLD
