Woodcut, 1930s, edition 40. 18 1/2 x 15 5/8 in. Signed in the block and signed in ink within the image. This is a fine impression of this large and impressive woodcut. The margins appear to be full and untrimmed. The condition is very good apart from extremely minor foxing and staining, primarily in the margins. Van Oel is not very well-known artist but his prints are quite good. He studied in the Hague and spent a year in Italy. (He also liked to build boats!)      SOLD
