The Rider on the Lion Engraving, 1924, Dodgson 5 (iii/III); edition 100. 6 inches in diameter. Signed in pencil, lower right. This is a fine impression printer on light cream laid paper. The margins are full. The condition is excellent. This major work was published by Colnaghi, London. Gooden ranks with Robert Austin as one of the most acomplished British engravers of the period.

Triton Engraving, 1941, Dodgson 24 (v/V), edition unknown. 6 7/8 x 4 7/8 in. Signed and dated in pencil. A fine, delicate impression with wide margins. Fine condition. Gooden was one of the first British artists to take up copper engraving consistently during the 1920s. He was elected to the Royal Academy in 1937. SOLD |
