Drypoint, 1938, edition unknown. 11 7/8 x 8 7/8 in. Signed in pencil. Dated in the lower margin, "July 8, 1938." This is a superb impression with full margins. Fine condition. This work was done while the artist was employed by the WPA. His associates included Karl Knaths, Jack Levine and Hyman Bloom.

Drypoint, probably 1940, AAA catalogue 899, edition 250. 13 7/8 x 9 5/8 in. Signed in pencil. This is a superb impression printed on a sturdy wove paper. The margins are full and the condition is excellent. This print was published by Associated American Artists in 1947. This is a stellar example of the drypoint medium. The artist did at least one other print in the architecturally rich Saratoga Springs, NY area.

Drypoint, 1943, edition 100. 8 x 7 3/4 in. Signed, dated and titled in pencil. This is a fine impression rich with burr. The margins are full and the condition is also fine. This potent, wartime image is among his finest prints and the influence of German expressionism is readily evident. Kupferman was a Boston contemporary of Karl Knaths, Jack Levine, Hyman Bloom and Carl Zerbe. During the years 1937-1940, they were all employed by the WPA program. Kupferman was teaching at the Massachusetts College of Art when this print was done.

Drypoint, 1938, edition unknown. 14 x 13 in. Signed and titled in pencil; also inscribed "early proof." This is a superb impression with full and slightly irregular margins. The condition is very good. Kupferman's first drypoints were of Boston area buildings and mostly Victorian subjects. These outstanding early WPA prints have a Hopperesque quality.
