Banner Fish Woodcut printed in colors, undated (probably 1930s-1940s), edition 75. 11 x 9 in. Signed, titled and numbered in pencil. Inscribed "del.sc.et imp." Here we have a superb impression printed on a very thin japanese paper. The margins are full. The condition is very good. (The sheet is attached at the four corners to a sturdy support sheet. There's a subtle, small printing wrinkle just to the edge of the image at the upper left corner.) Norton was born in Chicago and studied at the Art Student's League and the National Academy of Design among others. She was instrumental in the founding of the Palo Alto Arts Club in 1921 and she was a member of several printmakers Clubs and their associated exhibitions. $750 |

Beach, Provincetown Color woodcut, 1922, edition 100. 6 x 4 7/8 in. Signed in pencil. A superb impression of this rare print. Printed on extremely thin japan paper with wide margins. The extreme upper corners missing. Faintly discolored within a previous mat opening. This work was exhibited in Janet Flint's seminal exhibition Provincetown Printers: A Woodcut Tradition. Blue Macaw Woodcut printed in colors, 1928, edition 100. 9 5/8 x 5 1/8 in. Signed, titled, dated and numbered in pencil. Signed with the monogram in the block at lower right. This is a fine impression printed on thin Japan paper. This sheet is mounted to a support sheet at the four corners. The condition is very good apart from a vertical break in the tissue away from the image at the left, most likely from the printing process. Elizabeth Norton was born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 16, 1887 and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1910, the Art Students' League, National Academy of Design and the Chase School in New York (now Parsons School of Design). She traveled to California in 1915 to see the Panama Pacific Exposition in San Francisco, returning in 1919 to make the San Francisco Bay Area her home. $1,000 |

Red Macaw Woodcut printed in colors, 1928, edition 100. 9 5/8 x 5 1/8 in. Initialed with her monogram, lower right. Signed, titled, dated and numbered in pencil. This is a fine impression with rich colors.
The paper is a thin Japan paper which is attached at the four corners of the printed sheet. The condition is fine apart from the two top corners are are cut away. This is a companion print to the Red Macaw. Elizabeth Norton was born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 16, 1887 and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1910, the Art Students' League, National Academy of Design and the Chase School in New York (now Parsons School of Design).
