Halvemaansteeg (Amsterdam) - WITSEN

Halvemaansteeg (Amsterdam)
WILLEM WITSEN
Dutch, (1860-1923)
Etching and aquatint, 1907-09, De Groot 127, van Wisselingh 453; edition probably 100. 15 1/2 x 11 1/2 in. Signed in pencil, lower right. This is a fine, atmospheric impression. The margins are somewhat narrow and there's a small, skillfully repaired tear in the upper right corner margin not affecting the image. Witsen specialized in these compelling, beautifully rendered views of Amsterdam and other Dutch cities. His work was popular at the time and his publisher was E.J. van Wisselingh & Co., Amsterdam. Witsen was also a gifted painter and photographer.

Geitje (Kid) - WITTENBERG

Geitje (Kid)
JAN WITTENBERG
Dutch, (1886-1963)
Lithograph, 1949, edition unknown. 11 1/2 x 15 1/8 in. Signed and dated on the stone. Signed and titled in pencil. This is a superb impression of the large work. The margins are full. The condition is very good other than for slight wrinkling in the outer margins here and there. Exquisitely rendered, this lovely print reflects Wittenberg's great skills as a draughtsman. Birds and animals were typical subjects and he was equally well-versed in the woodcut medium.

WILM WOUTERS

Woodcut printed in colors, 1932, edition unknown. 15 1/4 x 19 1/4 in. Signed lower right with a printed signature, "Wilm Wouters del. et sc." This is a fine impression in very good condition.
