The condition is fine apart from a soft wrinkle in the outer margin on the left side. This charming print was also published unsigned in "Die Graphischen Künste" (Wien, Gesellschaft für vervielfältigenge Kunst, Volume 3, 1915).

(The sheet has been archivally mounted due to damage in the margins only. There are two small stains along the bottom of the sheet not affecting the image.) This is one of several floral images created by Thiemann clearly showing the influence of Japanese printmaking with his use of gauffrage.

This is a superb impression of this uncommon print printed on thin Japanese paper. The margins are trimmed right to the black borderline which was most likely done by the artist. The condition is fine apart from a small repair in the borderline in the upper left corner. This outstanding woodcut is supposedly from the collection of Franz Goldstein, Vienna (Lugt 1105b) but the stamp is nowhere to be found.

This is a superb impression of this extremely rare work which is here printed on Japanese paper. The margins are wide and probably full. The condition is quite good apart from very slight darkening of the sheet from light exposure. This impression is dedicated, "aan Hermine la Fontaine, liefs van, ('love from') Jan Toorop, 1926" (He also wrote in ink, "1896 fec." referring to the date when the impression was printed.) Hermine la Fontaine was a close friend of the artist. The catalogue suggests the influence of Lucien Pissarro and states there are impressions known in brown-black, green, green-brown and brown.

The margins are full and the condition is fine. (There's only a very faint suggestion of darkening within the original mat opening.) This endearing print is from a series of five 1903 woodcuts by Toorop which are extremely rare in early impressions. This is from the 1928 edition of twenty-five impressions printed by Ninaber van Eyben on this thin Japanese paper. The print is numbered on the original mat which we have in our possession. This woodcut relates to his drypoint from 1899 called Sprokkelend Kind (Verbeek/Rijksmuseum 47.) The location is Katwijk aan Zee at the Dutch coast.

Titled in pencil along the lower margin. Inscribed "hand print" within the image in the upper left corner. Here we have a superb impression printed on thin Japanese paper. The margins are right to the image along the top and left sides. Wider margins exist on the left side and along the bottom. (This is sometimes found with her prints and we believe Tschudi is probably responsible. (The image could have been printed to the two corners of the sheet or the sheet was trimmed.) This is one of her finest prints. Provenance: A Boston private collector.

Woodcut printed in colors, circa 1934-35, edition probably about 25. 12 1/16 x 9 1/4 in. Signed and titled in pencil. This is a very fine impression printed on Japanese paper. The colors are fresh. The margins are full but modest, measuring about one-half inch to one inch. The condition is fine. This is one of Turzak's best prints and it's also quite rare. From a series of four prints called "Chicago Moods," this stellar color woodcut shows the city's entertainment district at night. "Palooka" was a 1934 comedy film.

The condition is fine apart from just an extremely faint suggestion of light toning within an early mat opening. The margins are probably untrimmed but they are relatively modest measuring 1/2-1/4 in. Turzak did two woodcuts by this title which are similar.

The margins are full. The condition is very good overall other than occasional subtle spots of foxing and there's a printing crease in the upper left margin, apart from the image. This print is from his celebrated series, "Carrousels et Baraques" which was created in London in 1919. This is one of 50(60?) black and white impressions printed in 1925. (There were color editions as well.) Tytgat's style is both expressionist and charmingingly naive. He was interested in "scènes quotidiennes", popular tales, the circus and the the Flemish kermesse. He was a unique and gifted artist working as a painter and printmaker and the fine, early impressions of his prints are hard to find.

Signed, numbered and inscribed in pencil,"1er essai," and "épreuve d'artiste, Edgard Tytgat, London 1918." This is a superb, early impression with the text, before the later printings when the colors are not as vibrant and not as richly inked. The margins are full and the condition is excellent. "Carrousels and Baraques" is Tytgat's best known series of prints and this set of six works was extremely popular. There were multiple editions as well as impressions in black and white and in single colors. This superb impression is from the collection of Auguste Taevernier (1895-1976), (Lugt 3334) who was the author of a catalogue raisonné of James Ensor.

This is an exceptional impression printed on thin Japanese paper with the printed title just below the image. The margins are full and the condition is very good. (There a few soft wrinkles in the lower left corner of the margins.) This is one of six plates from Tytgat's most famous series, "Carrousels et Barques." This is the first edition of this print with later printings done unnumbered and in black and white only. Tytgat's style is both expressionist and charmingly naive. He was interested in "scènes quotidiennes," popular tales, the circus and the tradition of the Flemish kermesse. This impression is from the collection of Auguste Taevernier (1895-1976), (Lugt 3334), who was the author of a catalogue raisonné of James Ensor prints.

The margins are full and the condition is excellent. Urushibara's best work was a group of floral woodcuts of which this is a notable example. The artist moved to England at a young age and lived there as well as in France until 1934. He was very active with the European color woodcut artists at the time and collaborated with Frank Brangwyn on several prints.

The margins are full and the condition is fine. Van der Stok is well known for his stylized art deco era designs. He was born in Indonesia and eventually settled in the Hague. Circe was a sorceress in Greek mythology.
