Nude With Upraised Arm - MAX WEBER
Medium: woodcut printed in colors

MAX WEBER
American, (1881-1961)
Woodcut printed in colors, 1919-1920, Rubenstein 7, very small edition. 4 1/4 x 2 in. Signed in pencil, lower right. This is a superb, luminous impression printed on cream colored Japanese paper. The margins are wide and probably full. The condition is very good apart from a skillful repaired tear in the right margin and one below in the bottom margin; both well apart from the image. This outstanding work, like all of his color woodcuts, is quite rare. Another impression is located in the Smithsonian American Art Museum which is considerably different than our impression.
