Etching, 1887, Curtis/Prouté 66 (iii/III), edition unknown. 14 1/8 x 20 1/4 in. Signed in pencil, lower right. This is a fine, richly inked impression printed on a sturdy cream-colored Japanese paper. The margins are wide. The condition is very good other than faint remnants of an old adhesive showing in the margins from a previous mount. This third state impression was copyrighted and published in New York by Rodtke, Lauckner & Co. in 1888. This caption is printed in the upper right corner near the image and is not mentioned in the raisonné. This is an exceptionally large work printed with great tonal effects.       SOLD
