Woodcut printed in colors, 1906, Donovan 19, edition unknown. 9 1/4 x 11 1/8 in. Signed and dated in pencil, lower left. This impression is not numbered but is inscribed "no._" in pencil, below the signature, suggesting the number would eventually be added by the artist. This is a very fine impression comparable to the one illustrated in the catalogue raisonné. The condition is fine other than subtle handling creases in the upper right corner. The margins are unevenly trimmed around the printed black borderline which surrounds the image and this is often the case with Nordfeldt woodcuts. Impressions of this exceptional American woodcut can be found in the following museum collections: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The National Museum of American Art, The New York Public Library, The Toledo Museum of Art and the Zimmerli Art Museum.       SOLD
