Lithograph printed in colors, 1899, 13 x 9 1/4 in. Unsigned. The month of May from the calendar published in 1899 by Scheltema & Holkema, Amsterdam, including work by Dijsselhof and also Nieuwenhuis. This is a fine impression of this very rare work; a stellar example of Dutch art and design from "De Nieuwe Kunst" era. In very good condition apart from three small tears just to the image in the upper right corner. The colors are fresh. A complete example of this famous art nouveau calendar is located in the Gemeentemuseum, The Hague. This important calendar is illustrated and discussed in Holland on Paper in the Age of Art Nouveau (2014) by Cliff Ackley. Ex-collection: Hendrik Petrus Berlage (1856-1934), the celebrated architect and designer.      SOLD
