George C. Miller, Lithographer - ELLISON HOOVER
Lithograph, 1949, edition probably about 50. 11 1/16 x 8 3/4 in. Signed and titled in pencil. This is a fine impression of this uncommon print. The margins are full. The condition is quite good apart from slight age toning showing along the top and bottom margins, not near the image. There's also a trace of a fold mark in the upper right margin corner. This memorable image is the cover illustration for the 1983 Clinton Adams book, American Lithographers 1900-1960; the Artists and Their Printers. An impression is found in the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. Miller introduced George Bellows to the medium of lithography in 1916.
