Etching and aquatint printed in colors, undated (circa 1915-1920), edition 200. 11 5/8 x 15 1/2 in. Signed and numbered in pencil. This is a stellar, atmospheric impression printed a la poupée on a cream wove paper. The margins are full and the condition is fine. Masui (as he was know) was a painter, pastelist and printmaker. He was member of le la Société Royale Belge des Aquarellistes (1913). His graphic work is decidely painterly by nature and a large collection of his prints, almost complete, is in the Cabinet des Estampes in Brussels. Masui did many book illustrations, as well, including works for the celebrated Légende de Thyl Ulenspiegel.      SOLD
