Le Départ pour la Chasse (Leaving for the Hunt) - MAURICE TAQUOY - etching and aquatint printed in colors

MAURICE TAQUOY
French, (1878-1952)

Etching and aquatint printed in colors, 1904, edition probably about 100. 10 x 12 1/4 in. Signed and dated in the plate, lower left. Signed and dater in pencil. This is a fine impression of this charming print. The margins are probably full and the condition is also fine. Taquoy was a gifted etcher and his work is similar to that of Bernard Boutet de Monvel in both style and choice of subjects. He exhibited at the Salon d'Automne as well as the Salon de la Gravure Originale en Couleurs. His work is discussed and illustrated in, From Pissarro to Picasso, Color Etching in France (1992), by Phillip Dennis Cate and Marianne Grivel.      SOLD
