Winter Trees (Winterboomen) - RUDOLF BREMMER
Lithograph, 1922, edition 21. 8 1/2 x 11 1/2 in. Initialed and dated on the stone, upper left. Signed and numbered in pencil. This is a fine impression on Japanese paper. The margins are full. The condition is fine apart from lightening at the extreme sheet edges. Bremmer was born in the Hague and studied with his father, H.P. Bremmer. This understated print is a tour de force of lithography as well as an immensely detailed landscape study. His work is represented in the Kröller-Müller Museum. This print is from the collection of Jan Remmet de Groot, curator of paintings (1968-1994) at the Museum of Modern Art in Arnhem.
