Etching, 1909, edition at least 12. 13 x15 1/2 in. Initialed and dated in the plate, lower right. Signed, dated and numbered ("12") in pencil. This is a superb impression of this large, exquisitely detailed work. The margins are wide and the condition is fine. He started out as a decorator of Delft pottery and ultimately taught printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam from 1917-1943. He moved to Canada after the war and lived there the rest of his life. His etchings are discussed on pages 172-173 of Holland on Paper in the Age of Art Nouveau (2014) by Cliff Ackley.      SOLD
