Magic Carpet - WILLIAM HEASLIP

Medium: etching and aquatint

WILLIAM HEASLIP
American, (1898-1970)

Etching and aquatint, probably 1930s, edition 100. 11 7/8 x 15 in. Signed, titled and numbered in pencil. This is a superb, rich impression with full margins. The condition is fine other than for a very faint suggestion of toning within an old mat opening. Born in Canada, Heaslip was interested in art and aviation at an early age. He joined the Royal Flying Corps and served in WWI. He later moved to New Yok and studied printmaking and painting at the Art Students League. He was also an illustrator.      SOLD
