Drypoint, 1916-1919, Zandvoort 54 (ii/II), edition 31. 6 3/8 x 4 7/8 in. Signed and dated in pencil. Inscribed "2st" for second state of two. This is a superb impression with full margins. The condition is excellent. Schelfhout excelled in the drypoint medium and his best work consisted of these subtle, modernist landscapes which remind us of the early work of Mondrian. In fact, Schelfhout shared a studio with Mondrian in Paris and he helped introduce cubist aesthetics to Holland. His graphic work is included in the catalogue, The Cubist Print, 1981.      $650
