Etching, 1885, Bourcard-Goodfriend 13 (ii/IV?); edition unknown. 7 1/2 x 5 7/8 in. Signed in the plate, lower left. Signed in pencil and also signed with the artist's large red owl stamp (Lugt 977). This is a fine impression of this uncommon print. The paper is a thick Japanese paper. This is likely and intermediate second state, with the shading complete but before annotations were added in three of the four corners. This exquisite work is from Buhot's Japonism series based on several objects in the collection of Philippe Burty.       SOLD
