Etching, 1833, Strauber/Delteil 17 (i/IV); edition unknown. 4 1/4 x 2 5/8 in. Signed in the plate, upper right. This is a superb impression of the rare first state before all letters. This is the full sheet printed on laid paper with a J WHATMAN watermark. The condition is fine apart from a tiny hole in the margin at left and an old narrow hinge running the length of the edge of the sheet at right, verso. Ex-collection: J.
