Etching, 1920s, Timmerman CB101M; edition perhaps fifty impressions. 10 x 12 1/2 in. Signed and titled in pencil. This is a fine, rich impression in very good condition. The margins are adequate but have been trimmed. There's slight discoloration on the verso. Like Willem Witsen, Brandenburg specialized in architectural etchings with Amsterdam as a favorite subject. Singel is a very old canal which encircled the city in the Middle Ages. It served essentially as a moat until 1585 when Amsterdam expanded.       SOLD
