Wood engraving, 1937, edition 50 plus artists's proofs. 8 x 11 1/4 in. Signed, dated and titled in pencil. This is a fine artist's proof impression and is inscribed "A.P." The margins are full and the condition is excellent. This image is related to the bombing of Guernica and the artist's outrage over this event. Gilmour learned the art of wood engraving from Paul Landacre after he had moved to California from the east coast. He was active with the American Artist's Congress and his work is in many American museum collections.      SOLD
