Etching, drypoint and aquatint, 1879, Bourcard-Goodfriend 130 (v/V); edition unknown. 12 5/8 x 9 3/8 in. Signed and dated in the plate and with the red owl stamp stamp below (Lugt 977). This is a very fine, atmospheric impression with full margins. The paper is a cream-colored Japanese and apart from the remains of discreet older hinges, the condition is fine. This exemplary work has all the elements of a great Buhot; composition, detail, atmosphere and his unique pictorial imagery.      SOLD
