Etching, drypoint and aquatint printed in colors, 1903, Tabanelli 110, only state, edition 50. 11 5/8 x 18 1/4 in. Signed in the plate and signed in pencil by Chahine, lower right. Titled and numbered by the publisher, lower right. This is a fine impression printed on cream Japanese paper. The margins are full and the condition is also fine. This large, rare color print was published by Sagot, Paris, and bears their blindstamp (Lugt 2254) in the lower right corner. Along with Jacques Villon, James Tissot, and Toulouse-Lautrec, Chahine was one of the best portrayers of the images associated with la belle époque. (More than half of Chahine's prints were destroyed in a 1926 studio fire and even more were destroyed in a 1942 flood.)      SOLD
