Composition Wood engraving, 1930, Buckland-Wright L56, edition of probably 60. 9 1/2 x 8 5/8 in. Signed in ink, lower right. This is a superb impression of this large work. The margins are full and the condition is excellent. Buckland-Wright was a master of the medium and this work is exemplary of his pre-Hayter/Altelier 17 style. (The catalogue states, "an edition of twenty and only ten prints were pulled from the block". However, we know this impression is from the edition of 50 impression for La Gravure Originale Belge (1930) of which the artist was a founding member. Hence, an edition of 60 is probably the case.)
