Country Store Etching, 1929, Duffy 106, edition 50 (40 printed). 5 7/8 x 9 in. Signed and numbered ("50") in pencil. This is a fine impression printed on thin Japanese paper. The margins appear to be full. The condition is fine apart from old hinges on the top corners of the sheet, verso. The location which inspired this print is Granville, MA which is not far from where the artist was born (Springfield, MA). $1,500 |

Fiesta (Taxco) Etching, 1933, Duffy 173, edition 50 (30 printed) 10 7/8 x 14 1/4 in. Signed and dated in pencil and with the inscription "trial proof" in the lower left corner of the margin. This is a superb impression with small, slightly irregular margins. The condition is fine. This unusual proof impression is before the upper left corner was filled in and there is blank space around the small horse on the right side. The image is most effective and as appealing as the finished plate. It provides fascinating insight into Cook's working methods. SOLD |

Mexican Interior Etching, 1933, Duffy 174, edition 30. 16 x 10 5/8 in. Signed and dated in pencil, also inscribed "Mexico" in pencil. This superb, luminous impression was printed by the artist as indicated with the inscription, imp." The margins appear to be full and the condition is quite good apart from a skillful repair in the upper right corner margin away from the image. The paper is a very thin Japanese gampi. This large work won the John Taylor Arms Prize in 1933 from the Society of American Etchers Annual Exhibition. It was awarded first prize in the Annual Print Exhibition from the Philadelphia Art Alliance and was also selected for Fine Prints of the Year in 1933. SOLD |

Mexican Landscape Etching and aquatint, 1933, Duffy 177, edition 250. 8 7/8 x 11 7/8 in. Signed in pencil. This is a fine, luminous impression with full margins. The condition is excellent. There was an edition of thirty impressions and Associated American Artists published a 1941 edition of 250 which was titled Desert Tree. (See AAA index # 431). SOLD |

Taxco Market Aquatint and etching, 1932-33, Duffy 181, edition 30. 8 7/8 x 11 7/8 in. Signed in pencil and printed by the artist ("imp."). This is a fine impression of this uncommon print. The margins appear to be full and the condition is fine apart from a slight suggestion of light toning within an earlier mat opening. Cook was awarded one of his two Guggenheim fellowships in 1932 and he moved to Taxco, Mexico, where he produced several prints. This is an exemplary work by the artist. $7,000 |
