Nicotiana
Linoleum cut printed in colors, circa 1935, edition 75. 9 3/4 x 8 1/4 in. Signed and titled in pencil. A fine impression printed on thin Japanese paper. The condition is very good, overall, with minor stain in the full margins. Depew was best known for her colorful linocuts such as Nicotiana. She studied at the Ontario College of Art with G.A. Reid and was active in Hamilton, Ontario as artist and teacher. She also exhibited with the Society of Painter-Etchers. We are actively seeking other prints by this outstanding Canadian printmaker.
