The margins are full and the condition is excellent. This beautiful work was issued as Plate 1 of L'Album de Gustave Dore, as printed by Lemercier and published by Goupil, Paris (with their blindstamp, Lugt 1090.) Perseus, as seen in the upper left, is coming to the rescue.

Lithograph, 1856-57, Beraldi 73, edition unknown. 14 1/8 x 10 5/8 in. Signed on the stone. This is a fine impression with wide margins. The condition is fine other than a break or two and a small paper loss in the margins. This is plate 17 "au bureau du Musee Francais-Anglais," printed in Paris by Vayron. Dore was one of the finest draughtsman of the 19th century.
