Woodcut, 1930, Rose 47, edition 20. 13 3/8 x 8 1/2 in. Signed, dated and numbered in pencil. This is a fine impression printed on cream Japanese paper. The margins are full and the condition is fine. (There's some rippling here and there at the edges of the sheet.) This potent image is from the series "Ten Views of Manhattan." The impressions were printed between 1930 and 1932.

Drypoint and roulette, 1931, Rose 167, edition 30 (?). 12 5/8 x 4 1/4 in. Signed and dated in pencil and inscribed "1-xxx" in pencil. This is a fine impression of this rare work. The margins measure 1/2" - 3/4 in. The condition is fine other than some stray printing ink in the upper margin. Rose states, "few signed, dated impressions on wove paper."

Woodcut, 1930, Rose 44, edition 20. 7 3/4 x 11 1/2 in. Signed, numbered (1-XX) and dated (31) in pencil. This is a fine impression printed on a fibrous Japanese paper. The margins are wide and probably full. The condition is excellent. Early New York woodcuts by Drewes are quite rare.

Woodcut, 1931, Rose 58 (iii/III); edition 20. 11 5/8 x 8 1/8 in. Signed, dated and numbered in pencil. This is a fine impression printed on cream Japanese paper. The margins are full and the condition is fine. (There are minor paper imperfections in the margins and a few tiny specks of foxing.) Drewes produced a number of stellar expressionist woodcuts of New York from 1930-32. They are generally uncommon today.

Drypoint, 1934, Rose 195, edition 30 (?). 6 x 9 3/4 in. Signed, dated and titled in pencil. Inscribed in pencil, "1 - x." This is a fine impression of this rare work. The margins measure 3/8" to 3/4." Condition is fine. Rose states an edition of thirty signed and numbered impressions.

Woodcut, 1931, Rose 61, edition probably 25 (inscribed 11 5/8 x 8 in. Signed and dated in pencil. A fine impression on thin Japanese paper. Full margins. Very good condition other that some rippling in the right margin and a spot of discoloration as well. A good, early woodcut.

The Chess Game
Drypoint, 1938, Rose 205, edition 10. 6 3/8 x 8 3/8 in. Signed and dated in pencil; also inscribed "1 - X." This is a fine impression with full margins. The condition is very good apart from some associated ripples from the printing process. According to Rose, the image "was drawn with pointed scissors."
