Etching, 1889, Goodrich 102, edition unknown. image size: 16 3/4 x 27 Signed in the plate, lower left. This is a good, dark, posthumous impression printed by Charles White in his studio during the early 1930s. The paper is a sturdy simili Japan. The condition is very good. There are a few subtle handling creases in the image and the print is trimmed within the platemark but well outside the image. This is one of the great Homer images. The painting that relates to this is in the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
