Self Portrait - Hand on Forehead Etching, 1910, Klipstein 106 (iii?/IV), Knesebeck 109 IIc; from the signed and numbered edition of 50. 6 x 5 3/8 in. This is a very fine impression printed on sturdy wove paper. The margins are wide and probably full. The condition is fine apart from old tape adhesive residue on three areas at the edge of the sheet, verso. This edition of fifty was printed before the unsigned edition published in Zeitscrift fur Bildende Kunst and before the engraved text by Richter added in 1920. This outstanding, early self portrait has the signature of Felsing, the printer, in the lower left. SOLD |

Self Portrait at a Table (Selbstbildnis am Tisch) Etching, drypoint and aquatint, 1893 (?), Von dem Knesebeck 21 IIIc (of VIb), Klipstein 14 IIIa (of Vb); edition unknown. 7 1/16 x 5 in. Signed in pencil, lower right. Signed in pencil by the printer, O. Felsing, Berlin grd. in the lower left. This is a superb, early impression printed on a sturdy cream wove paper with full margins. Excellent condition. Before the numbered edition of 50 impressions published by Emil Richter in Dresden in 1918 and before the printed text in the lower margin published in 1921.
