Fisherman with a Hoop Net (La Pêche a la Truble) Etching and aquatint, undated (but before 1876), Malassis & Thibaudeau 90, Bliss 90 (ii/VI), edition unknown. 14 x 18 1/4 in. Signed in pencil. This is a superb impression of this large work. The margins are full and the condition is fine. (There's just an incidental spot of foxing here and there in the margins.) The British Museum acquired an impression in 1876 hence the date. The print is very rare in the early states and the total edition is unknown. This is an exceptional example of the artist's work. $1,650 |

Portrait of Sir Seymour Haden Mezzotint (with additions in pencil by Legros), 1881, Bliss 238 (ii/VI), total edition unknown. 9 7/8 x 7 in. Unsigned. This is a superb impression printed on a sturdy Japanese paper. The margins are full. The condition is quite good with slight rubbing here and there in the margins. This is a unique, working proof with added pencil work in the left blank area as well as to Haden's face, head and suit. From the collection of Arthur Thomas Glen (Lugt 129) who was known for his Legros collection, as well as for his Rembrandts, Meryons and Whistlers. Sur la Tamise (On the Thames) Drypoint, undated, Bliss 391, edition only ten impressions over three states. 4 1/2 x 7 7/8 in. Signed in pencil, lower right. This is a superb, delicate impression printed on laid paper. The margins are full. The condition is very good apart from a subtle speck of foxing here and there.
